Frequently Asked Questions

What will my first session be like?

During your first session, we will go over the contract for working together, we may complete assessments as required, then the time will be yours to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to get out of our time together.

What will we discuss?

Anything you want to talk about. You can talk about whatever feels important to you — there’s no right or wrong place to start, this is a safe place for you to talk about how you've been feeling, your thoughts and your goals or dreams.

When can I have a session?

Monday - Thursday     10am - 2pm   3pm-7pm

How do I book a session?

You can book Counselling or a free consultation for a time that suits you using the book online page. You can also book via E-mail, Text or Phone Call.

If you have any questions about Counselling but are not ready for a consultation you can use the contact me form. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

How do I pay for my session?

I send you an invoice with a very simple payment link so you can pay online or payment can be made via bank transfer.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, everything you share in counselling is kept confidential. There are however exceptions to this for example if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. We will go through this in more detail during our first session so you feel fully informed and comfortable.

Are sessions online or in person?

Sessions are currently offered online via secure video call (Teams) or by telephone. If you're unsure what would suit you best, we can talk this through.

What if I don’t know what to say?

That’s completely okay. Many people come to counselling unsure of where to start. I’ll gently support you in finding your way, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your session. Sessions missed or cancelled with less notice may still be charged.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing a space to talk things through, counselling can be a helpful place to start. I offer a free consultation so you can get a feel for how I work before committing.
